Amanda Thomas is the founder and designer behind Luv Aj, ajewellery brand she started when she was just 14 years old. Her after-school hobby ofjewellery-making quickly turned into a thriving business by the time she was a senior in high school. An internship with a local designer sparked her passion for creating her own designs. A chance encounter with a buyer at Fred Segal led to her entire collection being picked up for their stores, marking the official beginning of Luv Aj.
Amanda Jane, often referred to by her nickname AJ, used to sign everything 'Luv Aj,' which naturally became the name of her brand. After high school, she pursued a BFA in Graphic Design from Otis College of Art and Design. During her college years, she interned for clothing designer Rachel Pally, celebrity stylist Cristina Ehrlich, and worked as a graphic design intern at Who What Wear. These experiences and opportunities further fuelled her passion forjewellery and motivated her to grow Luv Aj into the renowned brand it is today.
Since its launch 18 years ago, Luv Aj has gained significant recognition. Celebrities like Bella Hadid, Hailey Bieber, Kylie and Kendall Jenner have been spotted wearing Luv Aj pieces. The brand is stocked in major retailers worldwide, including Revolve, Shopbop, ASOS, and Nordstrom. Amanda’s exceptional work as ajewellery designer earned her a spot on the Forbes '30 Under 30' list in 2015.
